Visit Australia's only agricultural rum distillery 

See the process of making Husk Rum and Ink Gin from paddock to bottle before taking part in a guided seven spirit tasting on a behind-the-scenes tour of Husk Farm Distillery. Set on 150 acres on the banks of the Tweed River, visit the cellar door for a cocktail and lunch, purchase limited-release bottles and soak up the views across the valley.

Explore a tropical wonderland

Admission here will see a guide fire up a tractor train and take you to explore the 200 acres of orchards where 500 varietals of fruit are grown. Sit at the counter to see all the action in the kitchen and bar, connect with the chefs directly, and watch your meal come together before your eyes at Pipit. With a menu featuring local produce, sustainable seafood and wood-fired cooking, this restaurant also offers a unique cultural experience. Sign up for an art class to learn Gyotaku, an ancient Japanese printing method that the Pipit team use to showcase their seasonal menus.

Avocado Kolsch, mango ales and lychee sours are just some of the beers that are poured at Earth Beer Company. Specialising in a rotating selection of experimental brews that hero local ingredients, this independently-owned brewery can be found on a working avocado orchard with views of Mount Wollumbin. Ask for a tour to learn how this team is reducing their footprint with innovations such as serving spent grain as breakfast for local farm animals.

Head to Bucks Farm in the foothills of the Tweed Valley to find a rustic farm shop overflowing with fresh produce picked daily. Alongside native finger lime and yuzu fruit, you’ll find fudge flavoured with bush foods and natural beauty products.
