Golf in the Blue Mountains

Where in the world can you tee off in the middle of a World Heritage-listed wilderness, where each hole reveals breathtaking vistas of ancient sandstone escarpment and valleys carpeted with pristine forest? Add to that fresh mountain air, a cool crisp climate and 19th holes that welcome with an ice-cold beer… it’s the Blue Mountains, of course, a veritable golfer’s paradise!

Sublime views

Adjacent to the Fairmont Resort & Spa, Leura Golf Club has been luring golfers with its spectacular setting since 1902. Famed for the incredible vistas of the Jamison Valley from its 14th hole, the Leura course challenges the skills of the experienced golfer while also catering to beginners. Relax in the clubhouse afterwards and enjoy the bistro, bar, pool tables and gaming facilities.

Just an hour’s drive west of Sydney, Springwood Country Club is a picturesque course boasting panoramic views to Sydney. Relax afterwards in a family-friendly environment of the popular Orchard Brasserie.

Golf with seasonal colour

Lined with colourful parkland everchanging with the seasons, the Blackheath Golf Course is one of the Mountains’ most picturesque courses. Enjoy stunning views as you exercise before retiring to the clubhouse restaurant and bar or relaxing on the deck with a meal from the bistro.

Established in 1913, the Wentworth Falls Country Club golf course was designed by renowned Australian golf course designer Dan Souter. This tree-lined, prestigious course offers impeccable fairways and putting greens. Enjoy the view or relax with a drink and meal at the modern club house.

Further afield

Travel a little further west to experience a round of golf in the rural settings of Lithgow and Oberon. The clubhouse at the Lithgow Golf Club is a beautiful example of an 1850s federation homestead. The meticulous course is an easy walk, but it offers challenges to players of all levels. Oberon Golf Course sits on the edge of Lake Oberon and offers hilly terrain, as well as the occasional on-fairway kangaroo.
