Tamworth Area Events
Tamworth is the heartland of Australian country music, and the region encompasses Nundle, Manilla, Gunnedah, Barraba, and Quirindi. Tamworth itself is home to around three quarters of the region’s residents and plays host to a year-round series of events with everything from local music to farm-fresh produce.
The biggest event on the Tamworth events calendar is the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival. The largest music festival in Australia (indeed, in the southern hemisphere), it attracts around 50,000 visitors per day, and culminates in the famous Golden Guitar Awards.
Another big event on the regional calendar is the Taste Tamworth Festival, bringing together producers, chefs and winemakers from all over the Tamworth region and greater New England. Highlights include Taste Pop-up Laneway Bar, Taste in the Park, The Long Lunch, and the Farm Gate Trail.
Produce from Farmers, Makers and Bakers of the regions brought to the people on the second Sunday and fourth Saturdays of most months. Excluding January which is Tamworth Country Music Festival month....
