Overview
Regional expression, varietal definition and a deep commitment to cool-climate winemaking define the wines of Collector Wines, founded by acclaimed winemaker Alex McKay. Recognised in the Real Review's 2026 Top Wineries of Australia, Collector Wines is based in the historic village of Collector, just outside Canberra. The winery farms sustainably across the Canberra District and sources exceptional fruit from neighbouring regions including Tumbarumba, Gundagai and Hilltops to craft a diverse and expressive range of wines.
The Collector Wines tasting room, located within the beautifully restored historic Hazeldean building in Collector, is just 40 minutes from Canberra and approximately three hours from Sydney, one minute off the Federal Highway. Designed as a refined and welcoming space for wine tasting and connection, the tasting room offers guided experiences that reflect the same sense of place, seasonality and detail found throughout the wines themselves.
