Tucked away in the industrial estate of South Nowra lays Old Salt Distillery, run by husband and wife - Terry and Michelle Robinson who have spent their entire careers in the hospitality industry.

This small batch distillery carefully distills a range of Gins and Vodka, which can be enjoyed at the distillery's bar.

Unlike most industrial-estate brewers and distillers, Old Salt features an open kitchen, wood-fired grill and a menu that hints at this couple’s fine-dining past (they both worked at Sepia in Sydney). Regulars on the menu might include barbecued corn with corn puree and lime butter, or melt-in-the-mouth Cape Grim beef ribs.

The couple’s inventiveness extends to the drinks: think house-made sodas such as blackberry, ginger beer and rose and lychee; fresh-fruit seltzers such as a blood orange and passionfruit hard seltzer; and seasonal craft beer releases such as cherry sour (created using 20kg of hand-pitted cherries) and milk-chocolate stout.
