Bombala is one of the historic towns in the Snowy Mountains. Located on the shores of the Bombala River, Bombala is renowned for the excellent trout fishing and local platypus population.
Try your luck at trout fishing on rivers and streams in the area.
Bombala Platypus Reserve, 4 km from town, is where you may be lucky enough to see these shy creatures in their natural habitat - the best times are either in the early morning or late afternoon.
The South East Forest National Park, 20 minutes' drive from Bombala, has many well-marked walking trails that range from wilderness walking (with no marked trails), to wheelchair-accessible boardwalks, picnic spots, short walks and lookouts.
