Dating back to 1870, Kangaroo Valley’s main street evokes a sense of country charm, with its tea rooms and heritage-listed pub, The Friendly Inn. Discover fascinating colonial history at the Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Village Museum or follow the Kangaroo Valley Historic Village Walk which takes in the historic Hampden Bridge with its large sandstone turrets.

Food and drink

Kangaroo Valley is known for its pies. Stop by the Kangaroo Valley Bakehouse for freshly made baked treats including their famous pies and sausage rolls. For dessert, visit Sweet As Kangaroo Valley to indulge in locally-made lollies, chocolate and gelato.

Take a short drive to Upper Kangaroo River for wine tasting and a cheese platter at Yarrawa Estate. While you’re there, pick up some jams, nuts and fruit – all grown on site or made from farm produce. Head to Hampden Deli for the finest local, fresh and seasonal ingredients as well as pickled, fermented, brined and baked goods. For more exceptional local produce, head to Wildes Dining where you can dine on Mediterranean inspired meals like chargrilled squid and crispy skinned barramundi.
