Small Batch Brewery and Hop Farm

Small Batch Brewery and Hop Farm sits on 40 acres of countryside in Budgee Budgee, about 16 kilometres from Mudgee. It's a working hop farm, a craft brewery, and a place people consistently stay longer than they planned.

The brewery pours a rotating range of small-batch beers brewed on-site — from hazy IPAs and cold IPAs to pilsners, pastry stouts, fruited sours, meads, and seasonal releases built around estate-grown hops. Weekend sessions run with food from Bao2Mi, live music, and views across the hills that are hard to leave.

For those who want to make a proper weekend of it, two luxury villas — Cascade and Eclipse — sit right on the property. Each sleeps four across two king bedrooms, with a fully equipped kitchen, private deck, fire pit, and direct access to the brewery and hop fields. Guests receive a private VIP beer tasting and complimentary Petersons Winery membership for their stay.

Run by Anton and Amanda van den Berg, Small Batch has earned Outstanding New Business at the Western NSW Business Awards 2024, the Mudgee Small Business Champion 2023, and a finalist spot at the NSW State Business Awards.
