Attraction - Aboriginal NSW, Historical Sites and Heritage Locations, Natural Attractions, Scenic Drives and Walks

Imagine enjoying a picnic, in the shade of a majestic old River Red Gum, on the banks of the iconic Darling River. Kinchega National Park extends south from the town of Menindee in the Western New South Wales. Kinchega was recognised for its unique and special qualities in 1967 when it was dedicated as a national park- the first in Western NSW.

Get back to nature in Kinchega National Park - a great place to relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the bush and experience the diverse and interesting landscapes of this part of the world.

The Darling River at Kinchega was, and continues to be, significant in the lives of the traditional owners, the Paakantji people and the park is rich in culture and history.

Stay overnight in one of the campgrounds or at the Shearer's Quarters (bookings required for the quarters).

Open Time

Open seven days. Check with park office during fire season and after rain.
