Why go there

Thirty-five kilometres from Cooma, each winter Berridale becomes a stopping-off point for winter sports enthusiasts on their way to Thredbo, Perisher, Smiggin Holes, Charlotte Pass and Guthega.

History

William Oliver settled the area in the early 1860s and his home became a way station for coaches. He named Berridale after his home town in Scotland. The town played an important role in housing workers employed on the Snowy Mountain Scheme.
