Operated by Tri State Safaris, Mutawintji Eco Tours has small group tours to the fascinating park in the outback. Mutawintji National Park is the first national park in NSW to be returned to its traditional owners. All of Mutawintji Eco Tours’ guides have been accredited by traditional owners to conduct tours in this restricted site.

Many of Mutawintji Eco Tours’ are led by Aboriginal guides. Tours operate daily on demand from 8.30am and depart from Broken Hill. Tri State Safaris has more than 20 years’ touring experience and is an accredited ecotourism operator. Single travellers are welcome on the tours. Two Day Opal Dreaming Tour

One Day Mutawintji National Park Tour

Mutawintji lies within the rugged Byngano Range, with its beautiful gorges and creeks lined with majestic river red gums. Mutawintji means 'place of green grass and waterholes'. Travel through ever changing landscapes of the Barrier Ranges, salt bush plains, mulga and red sand country. It is amidst the gorges and cliffs where the secrets of an ancient culture exist. The park reveals rock carvings, paintings and stencils that provide of Aboriginal occupation that dates back more than 8,000 years. Enjoy two interpretive bush walks to the engravings site and stencils site. Discover the remnants of fire places and stone tool making which gives them an insight into traditional life in the area.
