A pianist of great passion and power, considerable pianistic virtuosity, high-octane intensity, drive, and forward momentum.
Melbourne pianist and composer Stefan Cassomenos is one of Australia’s most vibrant and versatile musicians. He has performed internationally since the age of 10, and with over 20 years’ experience representing Australia on the world stage, is now established as one of Australia’s leading pianists.
A beautiful way to end the week, renowned pianist Stefan Cassomenos will perform two works of Beethoven on grand piano - with grace, power and precision. Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata is considered one of the greatest piano sonatas of all time. Completed in 1818, the work was originally regarded as unplayable, and has retained its status as one of the most demanding solo works in the classical repertoire. It was championed by the great composer-pianist Franz Liszt, who gave the first documented public performance of the work in 1836. Four Winds is delighted to have Cassomenos returning to Barragga Bay to share his talent and skill with the community for this delightful afternoon inside the Windsong Pavilion.
