One of the best ways to discover the fascination of the black perigord truffle is to join a truffle hunt!

Situated eight kilometres from the village of Bredbo, Macenmist Black Truffles and Wines offers you the chance to explore the hidden delights of the Perigord black truffle. Come and join the team at Macenmist where you will be able to experience something exciting and unique. Frosty winter mornings herald the ripening of the underground truffles and visitors are encouraged to rug-up and venture out with the truffle dogs as they hunt for the elusive black gold.

Enjoy a truffle infused produce plate followed by a truffle hunt. While enjoying your truffle morsels a short video about the farm and dogs is screened.

You will then head out and trail truffle dogs Tawdiffu and SongLu, watching them display their amazing olfactory skills. Once the dogs discover a ripe truffle, the unearthing begins, enjoy the archaeological event and discover your own perception of the truffle smell.

Then after collecting truffle, you’ll head back to the ‘function centre’ to enjoy more truffle facts. It’s at this time that you will be able to purchase truffle produce if available.

It truly is a “paddock to plate” adventure!
