Award winning photographer David Griffen is set to captivate art lovers and nature enthusiasts alike with his latest exhibition titled Plantlife.

The collection of framed work, curated from Griffen’s darkroom, features an array of large format black and white prints and colourful alternative process prints that celebrate the structure and beauty of flora.

Plantlife is a series that transports viewers into a realm where flora takes centre stage. Each carefully crafted photograph captures the structure and drama of plant life, all are handprinted in Griffen’s darkroom using traditional and alternative photographic techniques.

Captured on a family road trip through Queensland, this new body of work builds on the success of his previous exhibition Flora , with a continued focus on Australian native plants. Also featured are a selection of plants from the of the Hunter Valley Botanic Gardens.

Plantlife will be on display at 133 Beaumont St. Hamilton, where David has transformed an empty retail space into an art gallery specifically for the show.

Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of botanical beauty through the lens of one of Newcastle most interesting photographers.
