Dungog is a country town in the upper Hunter region of NSW, set in the heart of dairy country, less than 40 minutes’ drive from Barrington Tops. The main street has many important historic buildings, including the Dungog Primary School, Dungog School of Arts, and the James Theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating cinemas in Australia, which still plays host to the annual Dungog Film Festival. Nearby Barrington Tops National Park forms a spectacular backdrop, it's plateaus rising to heights of almost 1,600 metres.
