Expression Dance – Ecstatic Movement & Embodied Connection

Expression Dance – Ecstatic Movement & Embodied Connection offers a welcoming space to reconnect with your body through music, breath and free-flow movement. Held at the Richmond River Sailing & Rowing Club in Ballina, this guided evening invites participants to step away from daily distractions and experience movement in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Rather than focusing on choreography or performance, Expression Dance encourages people to move naturally and intuitively. The session gently guides participants from grounding and body awareness into more dynamic free-form dance, allowing space to release tension, reconnect with the body and express movement in whatever way feels right.

Throughout the evening, music and guided prompts help create a journey of embodiment, beginning with breath and arrival, building into an energetic ecstatic dance experience, and concluding with a calming sound immersion and quiet integration.

The space is open to everyone, whether participants feel like moving softly, shaking off the day or fully embracing the dance floor. No prior experience is needed, and all expressions of movement are welcome.

Designed as an alcohol and substance-free environment, the session supports presence, connection and a safe space for authentic expression. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring water and a yoga mat, and arrive with an open mind ready to explore movement and self-connection.
