Whispering Brook was born from a deep love of this land. The winery sits on the terra rossa soils of Broke, in the Hunter Valley. The Wollombi Brook whispers along the boundary. Mountain views stretch across the vines.
A trip to Portugal in 2007 changed everything. Inspired by the great wines of the Douro Valley, the owners pioneered noble Portuguese varietals here. Whispering Brook became the first Hunter Valley winery to grow and champion Touriga Nacional and Arinto, alongside the region's beloved Shiraz and Semillon. The estate is proudly rated five star by James Halliday.
Guests can settle in for the Signature Estate Tasting, six to seven wines, relaxed and unhurried. The Portuguese Varietals and Chocolate Experience pairs each wine with handcrafted artisan chocolate. In cooler months, the Fireside and Cheese experience is held beside the wood fire in the cellar door.
The estate olive grove produces single estate olive oil, table olives and infusions. It gives Whispering Brook an unmistakably Mediterranean soul.
Visitors come for a tasting on the wide, dog friendly verandah. Many stay for a long lunch, or overnight in the vineyard guesthouse.
See the beauty. Experience the life. Taste the wine.
