Giiyong Ganya 2026

The beloved Giiyong Festival will now become a biennial event, next presented in November 2027.

This year, they welcome you back to Jigamy to experience a new event, Giiyong Ganya, an intimate presentation of Aboriginal Culture and practice, storytelling, music and art on Thaua Country.

Giiyong Ganya is not a festival format. It is designed to offer skills development opportunities for Aboriginal people and immersive cultural experiences for audiences.

In 2026, event producers Twofold Aboriginal Corporation and its partners will be delivering a week of creative and cultural learning to build capacity in the local Aboriginal Community, helping support emerging artists and Cultural leaders.

This will culminate with a day of public workshops and a free in-the-round concert in the evening that will include music, digital art and storytelling.

Giiyong Ganya will create an intimate atmosphere for audiences, allowing people to connect more deeply with Culture and Country.
