This inspirational centre is located in the restored former post office on the southern end of Loftus Street.

This building until recently was a ruin with no roof or flooring and badly damaged walls. The preservation work has created a beautiful space with tall glass doors and windows through which to view the expansive landscape outside and a skylight to allow visitors to see the cerulean blue sky above. It is a special place.

Story boards and memorabilia contain information about the early days of postal services in the area, telegraph and telephone technology. Interactive displays include a telegraph key and sounder and wall telephones from the early 1900s.

Early transportation displays feature story boards about coach, wagon and motorised transport while an adjacent room contains a section of the 1880s rabbit proof fence and interpretive panels relating to the history of the rabbit fence from both Queensland and South Australia and the transition to a wild dog fence.

Disabled access available, contact operator for details.
