145th Anniversary Day Celebrations at Historic New Italy

Historic New Italy will celebrate a significant milestone in 2026, marking 145 years since the arrival of the first New Italy Expeditioners in Australia. Visitors are invited to join the celebrations for a vibrant community event honouring the rich Italian heritage and pioneering spirit that shaped this unique settlement.

Set along the Pacific Highway near Woodburn, the anniversary day will feature a lively program of entertainment, food and cultural experiences. Guests can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine from the Amici Food Truck, live music, raffles and a trivia quiz, while the much-loved Salami Wheel returns as a highlight of the day's festivities.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the fascinating history of the settlement through guided tours of the Historic New Italy Museum and Pavilion, sharing the remarkable story of the Italian migrants who established the community in the late 19th century.

Throughout the day, guests can browse local gifts and Italian-inspired items at the Casa Vecchia Gift Shop or relax with coffee, sweets and light meals at the Tastes of Italy Café.
