Throughout the year, the town of Forster plays host to a number of exciting North Coast events. The annual Lakeside Festival takes place each November and showcases the local music, food, wine and handmade goods of the North Coast region. The surrounding region boasts farmers’ markets, local fairs and fetes, horseracing events (including Melbourne Cup festivities), and other sporting events, from local teams’ matches to triathlons.

While you’re in the area, take advantage of the fabulous North Coast beaches in Forster-Tuncurry, Taree and surrounds. Main Beach and One Mile Beach are patrolled by surf lifesavers, while Forster Main Beach features ocean baths and is well protected, making it a favourite among families. Forster is also considered the centre of the ‘Great Lakes’ region of the NSW North Coast, and on your journey to Forster, you can follow the Lakes Way driving route, which stretches from Taree to Buladelah, to explore this picturesque area’s attractions and events.
