Seit 1970 bietet es Tieren wie Delfinen, Seelöwen, Pinguinen und Schildkröten einen sicheren Rückzugsort.

Mit interaktiven Programmen und immersiven Erlebnissen vermittelt das Schutzgebiet Besuchern die Bedeutung des Schutzes der einzigartigen Ökosysteme Australiens. Es beherbergt über 40 Tiere, von denen viele nicht in die Wildnis zurückkehren können. Das Schutzgebiet fördert das Bewusstsein, die Forschung und den verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit der Natur.

Das Schutzgebiet spielt eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Anregung von Naturschutzmaßnahmen an der Coffs Coast und darüber hinaus.
