Attraction - Building and Structure, Museum There are three Tweed River Historical Societies: The Tweed Heads Society & Maritime Museum at Tweed Heads, the Murwillumbah Society and Museum at Murwillumbah, and the UKI and South Arm Society, based at UKI.
The Societies have a long record of collaboration in the recording of the history of the Tweed.
The Tweed River Historical Society is an active non-profit body engaged in preserving, displaying, researching and publishing the history of the Tweed
River Valley.
The museum has displays of civilian and military radio equipment, geological specimens, household utensils, and chinaware, and clothing, books on World War I, military uniforms, war medals, ribbons, cameras and clocks. Also on display are a 12 ton Roby steam engine and the history of the banana industry.
