Gunning Explodes in Spring, it's just a hop, skip and a jump away. Spring is a wonderful time in Gunning. The Wattles are in full bloom, blossoms are starting to open and the hills are slowly turning green. In this beautiful country town, the residents celebrate spring with a bang!
Gunning must be the only place where you can experience a display of fireworks nearly as big as Sydney’s New Year’s Eve. Huddled around a fire lit 44 gallon drum, the skies fill with every firework available. The crackers get bigger as the night gets longer. During the final minutes the sky is covered with fireworks and the explosions shudder through your body. Kids’ eyes get bigger; heads tilt back, and shrieks of amazement echo through the hills.
The Gunning Art Exhibition and a Car Boot Sale and Market are run in conjunction with this event. | |
