Manning Valley

Cruise through the towns of the Manning Valley, beginning at Old Bar Beach and stretching through to Winghams historic town centre, and stop to enjoy a picnic along the Manning River in Taree. Explore the diverse ecosystems of eucalyptus trees, subtropical rainforests and sheltered gullies within the beautiful Coorabakh National Park. Visit Big Nellie lookout for uninterrupted views over the volcanic plugs that distinguish the park.

Great Lakes

The Great Lakes is home to a diverse marine ecology due to the intertwining nature of the still lakes and estuaries flowing through different towns. Spot a range of marine animals and water birds, such as dolphins and pelicans, through the waterways that surround the rainforests and eucalypt forests. Explore towns such as Hawks Nest and Bulahdelah amongst others, by cruising along the rivers in a boat or riding a ferry across the lakes.

  • Forster Forster Tuncurry is the centre of the Great Lakes area.

  • Taree Taree in NSW is close to the beautiful Manning River.
  • Tea Gardens Look our for dolphins that are likely to follow the small ferry from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay.
  • Wingham A short stroll from the centre of Wingham is Wingham Brush Nature Reserve.
