Arts, culture and heritage in Holbrook
During World War I, anti-German sentiment led to Germanton being renamed Holbrook, after British Navy Submarine Commander Norman Holbrook. Today, you can clamber all over HMAS Otway, which lies in parkland on the main road, and visit the submarine museum.
About Holbrook
Holbrook is an ideal stopover if you're travelling through country NSW on the drive from Sydney to Melbourne. There is plenty to see and do in this small Albury country town, which offers picturesque parklands and bushwalks, historic buildings and submarine regalia.
Stroll through Ten Mile Gardens, an idyllic park with picnic and barbecue facilities, or wander through bushland on the Ian Geddes Walk. Visit the Woolpack Inn Museum, the Submarine Museum and the National Pottery Museum.
