Overview
Nundle Woollen Mill is one of Australia's last working spinning mills and one of the few places where visitors can experience the journey of Australian wool from fleece to finished yarn using heritage machinery that still operates today.
Located in the historic village of Nundle in the New England region of New South Wales, the Mill invites visitors to step inside a living piece of Australian manufacturing history. Watch century-old machines transform fine Australian wool into beautifully crafted knitting yarn while discovering the traditions, skills and stories that have shaped Australia's wool industry. The mill's heritage machinery, restored to full working order, creates a memorable sensory experience filled with the sights, sounds and aroma of natural wool. This working heritage experience has become one of regional New South Wales' most distinctive cultural attractions.
Beyond the working mill, visitors can browse a colourful range of Australian-made yarns, handcrafted knitwear, woollen garments, homewares and the famous Nundle socks.
