Mawambul Design and Cultural Consultancy
Overview
Experience the Hunter region through Aboriginal story, knowledge, and connection to Country.
Led by Aboriginal cultural educators, these guided experiences invite visitors to explore some of the region's most significant cultural landscapes, from the elevated views of Mount Sugarloaf to the coastlines of Swansea Heads, the bushland surrounding Glenrock Lagoon, and the waterways of Pambalong Wetlands.
Over three hours, participants walk through Country while hearing stories, learning about local history, cultural practices, and the ways Aboriginal people have cared for these landscapes for thousands of years. Along the way, visitors are encouraged to slow down, take notice of the environment around them, and gain a deeper understanding of the places they are exploring.
Each experience includes Indigenous-inspired catering featuring native-flavoured ingredients and opportunities to connect with Country through shared conversation, reflection, and cultural knowledge.
Whether visiting the Hunter region or looking to experience it from a different perspective, these guided experiences offer a unique and meaningful way to engage with the landscapes, stories and living cultures that continue to shape this place today.
