The Blue Mountains has some of the brightest skies in New South Wales. Which makes for exceptional stargazing, as Dr Dimitri Douchin (an astrophysicist) knows only too well.

During 90-minute tours of the sky, visitors will embark on a journey of the southern sky. Gaze up with the naked eye to identify stars, planets and constellations, and hear the stories behind them. Then peer out through a telescope, which offers a front-row seat to the moon and its craters and seas, Saturn’s rings, the Orion Nebula, deep-space objects and shooting stars. Perfect for all ages, this unforgettable tour makes the perfect night out away from the city lights.

Take things up a notch and visit Douchin’s pop-up planetarium, illuminating the constellations from the comfort of an inflatable bubble (mug of chocolate in hand).
