Dirawong Dreaming Tour
Overview
This unique adventure and experience starts at 9.30am, it is a 7-hour return at 4 .30pm. Public amenities are available during the Tour stops.
You will be travelling along the coast of the most eastern point of Australia, visiting whale watching sites. In the winter, 25,000 migratory whales travel the coastline, dancing in the ocean along the coast.
You will also be visiting significant and sacred Aboriginal sites and heritage areas, ancestral dreaming sites, camping sites and ceremonial sites on the Bundjalung coast.
You will then visit fish traps, middens, massacre sites, learn about its people and their history pre-invasion and post-invasion, and then to the forest remnants of the Big Scrub, a chance to observe nature in its habitat while overlooking the spirit of the landscape.
You will visit a bora grounds (ceremonial site). Lunch and Water is provided at their sacred lake at Lennox Head.
Walking on sacred grounds, listening to the sounds of nature and taking in breathtaking views, returning later that day to your accommodation or meeting place.
Lunch and afternoon tea included.
