Nan Tien International Women's Day Charity Choir Fundraiser
Overview
Nan Tien Temple hosts a one-off community singing experience to mark International Women's Day, inviting voices from across the region to gather in a spirit of music, mindfulness and giving. Set within the serene grounds of the Southern Hemisphere's largest Buddhist temple, this pop-up choir offers a rare chance to sing together in an uplifting and reflective setting.
Led by Malika Reese, local professional singer, choir leader, gender equality advocate and 2025 City of Wollongong Citizen of the Year, participants will learn We Shall Be Known by MaMuse, a folk anthem celebrated for its rich harmonies and message of collective hope. The experience is open to everyone, from first-time singers to seasoned choristers, with no rehearsal required.
More than a musical moment, the event is a celebration of connection and purpose, supporting International Women's Day through a charity fundraiser for YWCA Australia. Expect an atmosphere that blends music, mindfulness and community spirit, an energising and heartfelt way to sing for joy, solidarity and positive change. Early booking is recommended, as places are limited for this special one-off event.
