Celebrate Botanic Gardens Week with Wollongong Botanic Garden by dropping in to explore the amazing and varied botanical collections, enjoy a picnic with family and friends, or participate in our free community activities.
Botanic Gardens Week 2026 celebrates the health and wellbeing benefits of botanic gardens. They are uniquely placed to support health and wellbeing because they provide accessible spaces that promote physical activity, restore mental health, foster social connection, and strengthen our bond with nature – all of which are proven to increase overall wellbeing.
The Garden has a with a wonderful range of free activities in our Garden from 18–24 May. Enjoy daily guided tours, take part in a relaxing tai chi class, immerse yourself in our nature wellness trail, and get creative with putty printing. You can also enjoy our bonsai exhibition and take a journey back in time with theStep Back in Time tours.
Pani Café will have coffees, teas and hot chocolates for sale from 9am daily, and OMG Decadent Donuts will be selling delicious donuts that are gluten, dairy, egg, and nut free on Sunday 24 May.
Botanic Gardens Week is an annual week of celebration to shed light on the role of plants in our lives and the important work botanic gardens undertake to conserve them for future generations.
