The Hill of Peace sits high on the escarpment within a private 35-acre wildlife sanctuary, with panoramic views across green valleys to the ocean and the western ranges. Echidnas and wombats are regular visitors.

Days drift between the heated pool, with its massage jets and night lighting, and long lunches on the two-tier deck. Evenings belong to the fireside, among a library of rare books, sculpture and curious ephemera.

The homestead sleeps up to 12 guests across a master suite closed off by elegant pivot doors, a mezzanine level with configurable sleeping spaces, and an independent private cabin. It suits two families or a close group wanting to share something out of the ordinary.

Beaches, rainforest walks and waterfalls are close by, and Jamberoo Action Park is a 10-minute drive. Sydney is 90 minutes away.
