The Secret Garden Cottage

The Secret Garden Cottage is an exclusive-use, three-bedroom holiday house on five private acres in Kangaroo Valley, a 500-metre walk from the village and about two hours' drive from Sydney or Canberra. It sleeps six, and dogs are welcome, including inside the cottage. Guests have the cottage and grounds to themselves: lawns, gardens, ponds, an on-property bushwalk and the Secret Garden Lookout, where a fire pit looks out over the escarpment.

Inside are two living rooms, a downstairs wood heater with firewood supplied and a heater in every bedroom. There is a queen bedroom downstairs, and a second queen and a smaller double upstairs. The kitchen, rebuilt in 2021, has a gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso machine. The master bathroom has a corner spa bath for two and a separate shower. Outside are three decks and a pergola with a barbecue and pizza oven.

Linen, bath products, board games, books and DVDs are supplied, and a porta cot and high chair are available on request. Wombats and echidnas live on the hill behind the cottage. The Friendly Inn, cafés and restaurants are a short walk away, and Fitzroy Falls and Berry are each about 25 minutes' drive.
