Berry Celtic Festival
Overview
The Berry Celtic Festival promises a day full of medieval and Celtic entertainment, beginning with the Grand Street Parade of pipe bands marching in their distinctive kilts, alongside Celtic Clans, medieval knights and Scottish Terrier dogs, before heading to the Berry Showground.
Set against a castle keep atmosphere, the festival features an avenue of stalls, artisans, spinners and weavers, and a Scottish soldiers' camp surrounding the parade ground. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy an action-packed entertainment program including massed pipe and drum bands, Highland dancing, Celtic musicians and fiddlers, and traditional singing.
Jousting remains a highlight, with heavily armoured knights showcasing their skills, while medieval mercenaries re-enact battles in hand-to-hand combat with impressive swordplay. There are also competition games, crafts and Celtic merchandise stalls to explore, along with food and refreshments including tea, coffee and scones, and traditional items such as fiddles, kilts, long socks, sashes and feathers.
The Berry Celtic Festival is a fundraising project of the Rotary Club of Berry. Visit the website for full details and ticketing information.
