River of Art Prize Exhibition

Step inside the historic Mechanics Institute in Moruya and discover one of the highlights of the River of Art Festival - the 2026 River of Art Prize finalist exhibition.

Across the gallery, visitors can explore an exciting collection of contemporary work by artists from across Australia, spanning painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, photography and more.

With no set theme or brief, the Prize brings together distinctly different creative voices and perspectives. Take your time, wander through the exhibition and discover the works that draw you in, challenge you or simply make you stop and look again.

Now in its 22nd year, River of Art has made the Prize a centrepiece of the Festival and an essential stop on the 2026 Arts Trail. An independent judging panel selects the finalists and determines the major awards, announced at the Festival Launch, while visitors can have their say by voting for the People's Choice Award throughout the exhibition.

Many of the finalist works are also available to purchase, offering the opportunity to support artists directly and take home an original work - and a lasting piece of your River of Art experience.
