Adaminaby Easter Fair
Overview
The much-loved Adaminaby Easter Fair returns on Easter Saturday in the Adaminaby town centre. This free, family-friendly event held in the home of the iconic Big Trout attracts thousands of visitors each year, offering a vibrant day of entertainment, food and community celebration.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities, including local market stalls, children's cupcake-decorating competitions, a trout tossing competition, dog high jump, wood auction and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. The fair also features quality local coffee, food vendors and plenty of opportunities to explore the welcoming alpine village atmosphere.
The day's highlight is the crowd-favourite Wacky Quacky Duck Race. Around 1,600 bright yellow plastic ducks, purchased by visitors, race through Adaminaby's stormwater channel in a colourful and entertaining spectacle. In 2026, the event features an increased total prize pool of AUD3,000, including AUD1,500 for the first duck across the finish line, making it one of the most exciting community races in the region.
The award-winning fair proudly supports local organisations including the Adaminaby Public School P&C, Rural Fire Service and Red Cross, with funds raised helping sustain vital community services.
Entry and parking are free, making the Adaminaby Easter Fair an ideal Easter weekend outing for visitors of all ages.
