Newcastle is set to ignite for Great Southern Nights 2026, bringing a powerhouse line-up of Australian talent to the city's iconic stages and vibrant entertainment precincts. From the rising Soul/RnB vibes of BOY SODA at King Street Warehouse to the soaring vocals of Hannah Joy (Middle Kids) at the Playhouse, the city will vibrate with big sounds.

Tthe Midtown Newcastle Gig Trail kicks off the celebration from 5pm. This high-energy precinct takeover features free live music and pop-up performances across 11 venues, including Bernies Bar, Charlies Rooftop, Granddad's Bar, and The Rogue Scholar. Experience the unique atmosphere of the Jams Karaoke Rickshaw or hop on the dedicated courtesy bus to discover everything from rooftop DJ sets to intimate acoustic sessions.

The energy continues throughout the program with headline sets from Jack River at the King Street Bandroom and jazz superstar Lisa Simone at the Newcastle Civic Theatre.
