The Channon Tavern
Highlights
Overview
The Channon Tavern is a relaxed, family-friendly hub where locals and visitors alike are welcomed like old friends.
Set beside the gentle flow of Terania Creek and just downstream from the iconic Protestors Falls and Nightcap National Park, the Tavern sits within peaceful gardens and has long been the heart of the village. Once an old butter factory serving the surrounding dairy farms, the building has been lovingly transformed into a laid-back country tavern that celebrates its past while embracing the community spirit of today.
The kitchen serves generous, home-style pub meals, including the Tavern's much-loved country pub pie — slow-cooked beef and mushrooms simmered in Coopers Dark Ale, topped with golden, flaky pastry that melts in your mouth.
Guests can spread out and make themselves at home with outdoor picnic seating, cosy couches by the fireplace, pool tables inside, and a jungle gym to keep the kids entertained. Well-behaved dogs are welcome outside on a leash.
With live music every Sunday afternoon, The Channon Tavern is the perfect place to unwind, connect, and soak up the unique charm of this historic Northern Rivers village.
