Caves Beach
Overview
Caves Beach is located on the Swansea peninsula between Lake Macquarie and the Pacific Ocean.
The beach is famous for the network of sea caves carved into the sandstone headlands at the southern end of the shoreline. At low tide only, visitors can walk through these caves, where sunlight filters in and waves echo against the rock walls.
Caves Beach itself is a long, sandy surf beach with clear water and consistent waves, making it popular with surfers, swimmers, and beach walkers. The beach is patrolled during peak seasons, and the surrounding grassy reserves, picnic areas, barbeques, toilets and showers make it ideal for families and day‑trippers.
The cafe is a stone's throw away for a special treat too.
