Pause and Create Art and Wellbeing Program

Pause and Create is a gentle mid-week reset for adults — a monthly art and wellbeing program presented at The Gallery, operated by Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance.

Blending chair Tai Chi, guided gallery experiences, and hands-on artmaking, the program is designed to support relaxation, reflection, creativity and community connection in a calm and welcoming environment.

Each session begins with chair Tai Chi, offering a gentle way to settle the body and mind before moving into a sustainable creative workshop activity. Participants will explore sewing, embroidery and jewellery making using reclaimed, recycled and repurposed materials, encouraging mindful making and sustainable creativity.

Perfect for beginners and creative community members alike, Pause & Create focuses on wellbeing, accessible creativity and the joy of making together.

Sessions 1–3
Participants will explore hand sewing techniques using reclaimed and scrap fabrics and materials.

Sessions 4–6
Participants will experiment with embroidery and/or jewellery making using reclaimed, repurposed and recycled materials.

Workshops may include project-based activities ranging from small handmade items to larger wearable or decorative creations inspired by sustainable making and creative reuse.

The Gallery is an Aboriginal-owned gallery operated by Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance, returning 80% of artwork sales directly to artists and supporting First Nations arts, culture and community across the Mid North Coast.
