Fig Tree Avenue

eventeen giant fig trees line both sides of Breimba Street in Grafton, their branches meeting 20 to 30 metres above the road to form a vast, shady green archway. Known as Fig Tree Avenue, this National Trust-listed streetscape is one of Grafton's most striking sights.

Wander or cycle beneath the canopy and take in the scale of these grand old trees. It's a cool, peaceful escape on a warm day and a favourite spot for photographers, so bring your camera.

Grafton is famous for the jacarandas that turn its streets purple each spring, and Fig Tree Avenue gives visitors a reason to explore the city's leafy heritage all year round.
