Byron Bay's locals are openly friendly and this is reflected in the region’s laidback cafés and restaurants with many offering outdoor seating and views of the water.

Throughout the Byron Bay region a burgeoning food industry makes excellent use of fresh, local produce, particularly seafood. The region’s focus on food and wine culture has inspired small, specialist food producers to nurture a wide range of goods including olives, fungi, cheese, truffles and game. Farmers and growers include certified organic producers, providing preservative and insecticide-free fruits and vegetables. You’ll find much of this on the menu in the area’s many restaurants and cafés and in nearby Bangalow, Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby.
