Ignite Studios

Located in Ballina's heritage-listed former fire station, Ignite Studios at Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) is a vibrant creative hub for arts, culture and community events in Ballina and the Northern Rivers.

Designed to support local artists and encourage creative participation, Ignite Studios provides dedicated spaces for artist residencies, art workshops, exhibitions, creative projects and community programs. Throughout the year, visitors can discover pop-up exhibitions, take part in hands-on creative workshops and connect with the region's thriving arts community.

Ignite Studios features a range of flexible creative spaces, including Creative Studio Spaces, a purpose-built Artist-in-Residence Space, Workshop Spaces and the Engine Room, with spaces also available for hire.

Once the original Ballina Fire Station engine bay, the Engine Room has been reimagined as an art education and experimental project space. Today, it provides a unique setting for contemporary art, creative learning, workshops and collaborative projects.

As part of the Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina, Ignite Studios plays an important role in supporting emerging and established artists while creating more opportunities for locals and visitors to experience the arts.
