Little Valley Farm offers a hands-on Introduction to Alpaca Workshop for anyone considering adding alpacas to their small farm, acreage, or rural property. Run monthly on the working alpaca farm in Laguna, in the heart of the Wollombi Valley, the workshop gives participants a genuine, practical grounding in alpaca ownership, from the realities of daily care to the bigger picture of whether alpacas are the right fit for their lifestyle and land.

The workshop covers everything prospective alpaca owners need to know: shelter requirements, nutrition, breeding, health management, and fibre production. Participants also spend time with the resident alpacas, observing how the animals behave and interact - a highlight for most attendees.

Workshops are hosted by Euan and Daniela, who established Little Valley Farm in the Wollombi Valley in 2012. The farm is also home to the Little Valley Summerhouse, an architect-designed off-grid farm stay accommodation.

Located in the lower Hunter Valley, Little Valley Farm is approximately 90 minutes from Sydney, one hour from Newcastle, and one hour from the Central Coast. An accessible day trip from across the region.

Workshops run monthly, usually on a Sunday. Current dates and bookings are available at the Little Valley Farm website.
