Join artist Ileana Clarke for a casual painting session and learn techniques to create your own pet portrait in acrylics. Bring along your favourite pet A4-size photocopy or photo and learn how to capture personality, expression, and likeness in this immersive portrait and pet painting workshop, inspired by Lucy Culliton's exhibition.

Perfect for beginners through to intermediate artists, this class blends hands-on guidance and creative freedom. You will learn observational skills and how to analyse reference photos for proportion, structure, and personality. Sketching fundamentals, balancing shapes, mapping features and building a strong foundation will also be a focus. You will discover colour mixing, brushwork techniques, and how to create skin tones and fine details like whiskers and eyelashes, then how to add finishing touches.

Included in the class will be step-by-step demonstrations, individual feedback, and reference photo tips. All materials will be supplied.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to create a meaningful memory. No experience is required. Please wear old clothes or bring along an art shirt or apron.
