Overview
Eastlake's Family Tree is a family-owned and operated cherry orchard located 7km south of Young. The farm has been owned by the Eastlake family since the 1860s, with Cherry trees being introduced in the mid 1960s.
Located 300m south of the privately owned historic homestead, the farm shop is open throughout the year, with fresh produce in store from mid-November until the end of January. As well as growing and selling delicious cherries, other fruit may include strawberries, stone fruits and apples.
The farm is also well known for its other treats. Homemade ice cream, gelato, fruit pies, jams and giftware are available for purchase, and the continually changing list of ice-cream flavours sees many people return throughout the season.
There is something wonderful about detoxing from the fast life, and for those wanting a farm experience for the family, pick-your-own cherries are available. The Eastlake's team will demonstrate how to pick cherries as well as providing education on how cherries grow, and any other aspects of farm life that people might be interested in. They choose the ripest trees for people to pick and are full of enthusiasm and knowledge of the cherry industry.
Bookings are essential for pick-your-own, as the orchard is only open to the public during certain times of the harvest season.
