Overview
The E.C. Griffith Cup is the second oldest boat racing trophy in the world. Contested by the thunderous Hydroplanes capable of well over 250 kilometres per hour, these boats have to be seem to be believed. 2026 will see the reigning North American and New Zealand Champion Ken Lupton return to Yarrawonga's Lake Mulwala to battle nine-time Griffith Cup title-holder; Victorian Grant Harrison and a string of other top Australian competitors in a fight for the ages.
The event will also host the exciting Battery World National Drivers' Championship season opener for Forced Induction Unlimited Displacement boats; boats with up to 2000-horsepower capable of well over 200 kilometres per hour racing inches apart across three laps of a 700-metre circuit located well within sight of the Yarrawonga foreshore, the event regularly attracting north of 20,000 fans.
