River of Threads is an exciting Textile Arts Exhibition presented by the Embroiderers Guild, Victoria - Mildura Branch.
Held over the King's Birthday long weekend.

Its members proudly showcase their contemporary and traditional embroideries and textile creations in both 2D and 3D.

On display is an extraordinary number of original designs that incorporate a range of weird and wonderful materials. Similarly, Mildura members have completed exquisite embroideries that show traditional and modern designs by published authors.

There's Blackwork, Pulled Thread, Hardanger, Felting, Crewel, Knitting, Quilting, Cross Stitch and more. There's Steampunk, Hyperbolic Crochet, Liberated Canvases, Storyboxes, Figurines, Multimedia Stitcheries and more. There's a members' challenge to present a textile piece that is 15cmx15cm and inspired by the Murray River. Please vote for your favourite. There's a De-stash stall and raffle prizes.

Around 50 members, ranging in age from 16 to 101, have been busily and enthusiastically producing a diverse range of embroideries. Their generosity, encouragement, sharing and laughter have resulted in a celebration of threads meeting fabrics.

Situated in the Mildura City Heart Mall, visitors are assured of nearby coffees, delicious eateries, other attractions and strolls to the river.
