Under the Night Sky: A Telling of the Stars
Overview
Under the Night Sky: A Telling of the Stars is an intimate evening of astronomy and First Nations sky storytelling, held at Osborn House in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
Guests gather outdoors at dusk — seated in Wilson & Dorset shaggy sheepskin bags, warmed by fire pits and lanterns — as an astronomer and First Nations cultural practitioner share the science and stories written in the stars above this land. No artificial lighting. No amplified sound. Just the night sky, the country beneath it, and the voices that have always known how to read both.
Scheduled just before Horizontal Festival, this is a high-yield, design-led experience for travellers seeking something genuine — slow, sensory, and grounded in place. Cheese, red wine, hot toddies and hot chocolate are served. The Southern Highlands has never looked more like itself.
